A young artisan hand-dyed this exquisite wall hanging at the Ndomo Natural Dyeing Conservancy in Mali. One of Mali’s preeminent bogolan artists, Boubacar Doumbia, established this social enterprise to create jobs for youth and preserve traditional knowledge Ndomo teaches unemployed youth ancient and sustainable techniques of dyeing cotton bogolan and indigo.

The Ndomo artists are educated in traditional Malian values: work, responsibility, solidarity, and personal commitment.
