These deep blue scarves are inspired by a centuries old practices of dying indigo (gala). Each one is a new take on this local Malian tradition. There are three styles: two-tone design (pictured here), bogolan stripe and navy stripe. The scarf is 15.5 inches wide and 76 inches long, with 1.5 additional inches of fringe at either end. Total length including fringe is 79 inches.
Artisans at the Ndomo workshop custom-made this scarf for Rubia. Its deep blue color is inspired by Mali's indigo (gala) tradition. The weave of this scarf makes it light and flowy.

Bogolan cushion covers custom-made in two shapes, rectangular (12"x20") and square (16"x16") . Choose from a classic black bogolan accented with white pompoms or white crocodile pattern accented in black fringe with pompoms. Each piece is unique: patterns may vary slightly.)
Hand embroidered fair trade in Afghanistan, the Rubia Vine Pillow is stitched with natural threads on a black cotton pillow cover. The traditional vine motif is stitched with naturally dyed wool or silk threads and each pillow is signed in embroidery on the back side by the artist. Rubia is a non-profit organizations whose mission is to develop opportunities and to promote the well-being of Afghan women and their families.
